This is all very good advice for me personally, and extremely relevant. I've been doing a creative pivot recently (illustration to sculpture) and gradually accepting that following my weirder instincts will get me closer to where I actually want to be. And being curious about why I'm repelled by certain things and attracted by others, and that one weird mix of attraction/repulsion that signals the MOST curious, unresolved part of creativity.
100% agree with all of this, but especially the walk in nature part. You can't spiritually heal others unless you are constantly, consistently allowing your body to be healed by nature, exercise, and food. You will never stop needing these things. It's like being in recovery, you are always in recovery for just being alive, and that's OK!
Life keeps giving you the same lesson until you finally learn it. Mine came dressed in new faces, failed plans, and missed timing — but the message was always the same: Wait.
Great response, Heather! I loved this one! I mean, I'd prefer numb disassociation, but I guess I can struggle on and work to feel in reality. Knowing that feeling includes the highs and the lows.
Great post! Such a scary thought — that if you truly listen to yourself, you’ll probably hear all the answers. Sometimes even the wildest wishes can come true if you’re all in — not just in effort, but emotionally too. Believe in yourself. It’s such a complex and intricate journey. The comfort zone may feel cozy and safe, but without even a little bit of you in your days, it will never be fulfilling.
Shine your light! Keep going. I’m on the same path. Combine what Heather wrote with Professor Jiang’s “Predictive History” on Substack and YouTube for more lightbulb moments. The kingdom of God is truly within us. Thank you Trying Very Hard and Heather/Polly. 💕✨✨
Rabbits and squirrels! Rabiits and squirrels!
